You will oversee Databricks performance efforts and ensure its success. Databricks is changing the way the industry thinks about (big) data and you will lead the charge to continue driving this change. You will collaborate with brilliant engineers and customers to ensure that we deliver valuable products. You will work closely with the executive team to establish our competitive positioning and strategy, and interface with our sales and field team to ramp revenue and sales to make this product stand out in a growing multi-billion dollar market.

Your role will be to understand where better performance will make a meaningful difference to our customers. Within the first 6 months:
- Have established a roadmap for the performance area based around customer value
- Have developed a joined understanding across engineering, Sales, Field and Customer Success of key customer workloads and the performance tradeoffs for each
- Maintain a competitive analysis of other Spark execution environments and their performance differentiator
