Solutions Architect (Cloudera)
We are currently seeking Solutions Architects to join our Field Technical Services team.
Cloudera Solutions Architects do not act as typical consultants – they function as team leads and can expect to work with some of EMEA’s most exciting private and public sector organisations. Our customer engagements range from simple deployments of our Hadoop based Enterprise Data Hub, CDH, to large scale analytics use case design and deployment. We are seeking exceptional individuals with strong technical and client consulting experience.

Experience in delivering technical presentations and demonstrations
Excellent communicator who has experience presenting to a wide range of audiences
Demonstrated experience gathering, scoping and documenting customer business requirements
Consulting background and/or comfort in working with customers
Database and Data Management
In-depth knowledge of the following: SQL – query optimization and data model design
One or more of Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL
Batch operations (e.g. writing MapReduce, ETL jobs)
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts
Solid OS / networking fundamentals
In-depth knowledge of Linux
System administration knowledge
Concurrency and synchronisation
Optimization and troubleshooting
Fallacies of distributed computing
Knowledge of distributed systems
Understanding of configuration management systems (e.g. Puppet, Chef) and concepts behind mass configuration
High availability and business continuity
Queuing patterns and pipeline design
L2 vs. L3 networking, network architecture, VLANs, hardware device design basics
Virtual memory management
Messaging systems and patterns
In-depth knowledge of the following: Java
In-depth knowledge of the following: Python
General scripting skills
Experience with analytics and BI tools
Deep understanding of statistical methods
Must be eligible to work in the EU
