Software Engineer – Frontend and Full-stack (Databricks)

We are looking for a front end/ full stack developer to work with a cross-functional team in our San Francisco office. We are looking for a talented and passionate developer versed in HTML, CSS, and Javascript experienced in developing single page web apps. You will collaborate with fellow engineers, UX, visual designer(s) and other cross-functional teams to design tools for data visualization, data science, machine learning, and big data automation. You should feel comfortable working autonomously as well as with collaborating with fellow engineers and designers.

Databricks was founded out of the UC Berkeley AMPLab by the creators of Apache Spark. We’ve been working for the past six years on cutting-edge systems to extract value from Big Data. We are the winners of the Daytona GraySort making us the fastest big data system on the market. We set a new record sorting 100TB of data 3X faster using 10X fewer machines. We have built a team of the best minds in the world in the field of big data. We recently came out of stealth mode and have already changed the landscape of big data. We are just getting started, and we are looking someone equally passionate to grow with us.

Responsibilities

  • Create engaging, easy-to-use, and visually delightful design solutions that address complex user needs
  • Develop in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (both in its raw form and with common libraries)
  • Create highly complicated single page web apps
  • Work closely with various teams through development and implementation cycles
  • Experience with data visualization a bonus
