John Landry is a Distinguished Technologist in the HP Personal Systems Software Group. He is based in Houston, Texas and leads a Data Science group focused on creating a Big Data cloud platform hosted in Amazon to collect and analyze data from HP products and services to provide insights to engineering and marketing teams in addition to enabling new analytics services offered with HP products. The HP Big Data platform is based on AWS services such as Kinesis and S3 using Spark managed by Databricks as the analytics compute engine. He is also evangelizing the investment into Big Data analytics across HP. John’s background is in PC Architecture graduating with a BSEE degree from the University of Florida where he also lettered in Football. He started his Career at IBM and Compaq Computer first designing ASICs, systems, and software. His passion for data led him to Big Data analytics with a focus on device telemetry data.
