Ben Lorica is the Chief Data Scientist and Director of Content Strategy for Data at O’Reilly Media, Inc. He has applied Business Intelligence, Data Mining, Machine Learning and Statistical Analysis in a variety of settings including Direct Marketing, Consumer and Market Research, Targeted Advertising, Text Mining, and Financial Engineering. His background includes stints with an investment management company, internet startups, and financial services.

Abhishek Mehta is the Founder & CEO of Tresata, the first analytics company to unleash the power of financial data and solve massive business problems. In a short span of 3 years, he has built Tresata as one of the fastest growing big data startups redefining how software is built, sold and delivered by building it all in the Hadoop stack. Abhishek is recognized as one of the most influential thinkers, visionaries and practitioners in the world of Big Data. His history is a rich combination of stints as a radical technology expert and as a practical, in-the-trenches business leader. His experience includes 2 years as Executive in Residence at MIT Media Lab, Managing Director at Bank of America for 9 years and leadership positions at Cognizant Technology Solutions and Arthur Andersen.

George Mathew oversees marketing, products, and strategy for Alteryx. He brings over 18 years of executive leadership experience in enterprise technology, software-as-a-service, and ecommerce. George’s broad experience is helping to further accelerate exponential growth at Alteryx, while the business enjoys the highest customer success rate in the industry. Previously, George was the group vice-president & general manager for Business Intelligence (BI) at SAP BusinessObjects, and before that managed SAP’s portfolio strategy in the Office of the CEO. Prior to SAP, George was an early member of He was also a founding member of Fort Point Partners, a management consultancy that delivered large-scale e-commerce systems.
George holds a Bachelor of Science in Neurobiology from Cornell University and a Masters in Business Administration from Duke University, where he was a Fuqua Scholar.

Patrick Wendell is an engineer at Databricks as well as a Spark Committer and PMC member. In the Spark project, Patrick has acted as release manager for several Spark releases, including Spark 1.0 and 1.1. Patrick also maintains several subsystems of Spark’s core engine. Before helping start Databricks, Patrick obtained an M.S. in Computer Science at UC Berkeley. His research focused on low latency scheduling for large scale analytics workloads. He holds a B.S.E in Computer Science from Princeton University.

Martin Van Ryswyk is responsible for the worldwide software engineering, product development and continued advancement of our integrated enterprise big data platform. He has more than 22 years of experience managing software teams at both small startups and large corporations. During that time, he’s brought products to market in a wide variety of areas such as cloud computing, application lifecyle management, database performance analysis, storage management and systems management. Before joining DataStax, he held numerous senior engineering roles, leading the development and go-to-market strategy for enterprise level technology products at Tidal Software, Luminate, EMC and most recently at Electric Cloud. Martin earned a bachelor of science degree in computer science from the University of California, Davis.
