Eva Tse, Big Data Services at Netflix

About Eva

Eva Tse leads the Big Data Services team at Netflix. Her team architects and manages an ecosystems of core services that make up the Netflix big data platform in the AWS cloud. The platform is leveraged across Netflix for data analytics and ETL. The Netflix data platform consists of various open source big data processing engines (e.g., Spark, Presto, Hadoop, etc) and an ecosystem of Netflix open-sourced big data tools and services (e.g., Genie, Metacat, Lipstick, Inviso). Prior to joining Netflix, Eva led the server and metadata service teams for PowerCenter at Informatica. Eva holds an MS and BS in computer science from the University of Houston.

About Gayle

Gayle leads Intel’s overall market vision,strategy and fundamental direction for
knowledge representation and reasoning systems inside Intel’s AI platform.

Formerly Chairman and CEO of Saffron Technology, Inc., acquired by Intel in 2015, Gayle’s career has focused on
bringing operational and decision sciences software solutions to the Global 1000. In her current role she continues to work closely with leading global companies across financial services, manufacturing, government, energy, health care and life sciences. Prior to Saffron, Gayle held roles as Vice President and Managing Director at Peoplesoft, CEO and President of MarketMile, LLC (now part of Rearden Commerce) where she led the development and launch of a new Software as a Service e-procurement business for American Express.

She has also held positions as Vice President, Worldwide Sales, J.D. Edwards & Company, President and General Manager of J.D. Edwards Japan, K.K., and Vice President of J.D. Edwards Asia Pacific Ltd, Hong Kong.

Her Asia Pacific and Japan mission was focused on accelerating J.D. Edwards growth in international markets prior to its IPO while working with leading European and American manufacturing companies to automate their supply

She is a graduate of the University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida, where she received a B.S., Business
Administration with focus in operations research and management science.

Jennifer Shin, Founder at 8 Path Solutions

About Jennifer

Jennifer Shin is the Founder of 8 Path Solutions, a data science, analytics, and technology company and Senior Principal Data Scientist at The Nielsen Company. As an experienced data scientist and management consultant, Jennifer has led complex, large scale, and high profile projects for corporate, public, and private clients, including GE Capital, the Carlyle Group, Fortress Investment Group, and Columbia University.

A recognized thought leader, her expertise has been acknowledged by USA Today,VentureBeat, and Reuters, and in 2015 she was identified by IBM as a Big Data & Analytics Hero. Jennifer is also on the faculty at UC Berkeley.

Ritika Gunnar, VP at IBM

About Ritika

Ritika Gunnar is the Vice President of IBM’s Data and Analytics Business. In this
role, she is responsible for the offering management and P&L for offerings including
Hadoop, Spark, Predictive Analytics [SPSS Business], Prescriptive Analytics [CPLEX]
and Entity Analytics. She is also responsible for defining our next generation
analytics capabilities.
Previously, she managed IBM’s Master Data Management & Information Integration
and Governance business and IBM’s Data Warehousing & Analytics business
responsible for the strategy, directions and operational management of the
Warehousing portfolio.
Ritika has worked with IBM in various roles within development, support and
technical sales. She started her career developing and supporting systems
management warehousing and reporting solutions. She worked in various
development projects across IBMs brands to create appliances and solutions for
clients cloud and virtualization needs. Ritika also managed Tivoli’s world-wide
technical sales teams driving solution selling within the portfolio and increasing
overall revenue an client satisfaction for the brand.
Ritika holds a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science and an Executive Masters in
Business Administration from the University of Texas at Austin.

Soumya Guptha,  at Intel

About Soumya

Soumya Guptha is a Marketing Manager at Intel leading strategic marketing efforts for System Simulation Solutions within Software & Services Group. Over her career span of 17 years at Intel she has been in leadership roles spanning product planning, product management, and software development optimizing applications to run best on Intel platforms
Soumya is one of the founding members of the Women in Big Data. She is an ambassador of Women in Data Science. She is passionate in helping women grow in their careers, and believes data analytics is the “next big thing,” with huge potential and an ocean of opportunities
Soumya has earned an M.S. in Computer Science from the Portland State University. She lives in Portland, Oregon with her husband and 2 girls and loves hiking in the beautiful gorge
