Zaid Al-Ars is an assistant professor at the Computer Engineering Lab of the TUDelft, where he leads the research activities of the big data research theme of the lab. His work focuses on developing HPC infrastructures to enable the efficient processing of big data applications using optimized solution alternatives for system performance, memory, power, etc. Dr. Al-Ars is also cofounder of Bluebee, a big data company specialized in high performance genomics solutions. Prior to joining the TUDelft, Dr. Al-Ars spent a number of years in the Product Engineering Group of Infineon Technologies and Siemens Semiconductors in Munich, Germany.
