Spark Summit 2014 brought the Apache Spark community together on June 30- July 2, 2014 at the The Westin St. Francis in San Francisco. It featured production users of Spark, Shark, Spark Streaming and related projects.
For 2014, the Spark Summit has grown to a 3-day event. We’ll have two days of keynotes and presentations followed by one day of hands-on training. Attendees of the summit can choose between a 2-day conference-only pass or a 3-day conference and training pass.
Monday, June 30th and Tuesday, July 1st will each start off with keynote presenters. We will feature companies and individuals who have made the Spark ecosystem what it is today. After lunch we will offer multiple presentation tracks that will focus on different topics.
Wednesday, July 2nd will be a day of introductory level training provided by Databricks. Developers will learn how to configure, deploy and use the Apache Spark platform via hands-on exercises that they will perform on a real cluster with real data. Topics will include Spark Core, Streaming, Machine Learning, Graph processing, and more. Many of the open source project lead developers will be on hand to provide support and answer questions. The training is targeted at users that are relatively new to the Spark platform.
